Born in Berkeley, California, Tammy was mostly raised in Monument, Colorado, a small town near Colorado Springs. She grew up as a Presbyterian and as a young adult, was active in Young Life where she grew in her faith and love for God. Tammy graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a degree in German Literature and Languages. After college, she enrolled at Fuller Theological Seminary, where she continued to pursue her love for theology and call to ministry. During seminary, she served as an intern for two years at La Canada Presbyterian Church in youth ministry while completing her Master of Divinity. She was first called and ordained as the Co-Associate for Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian of Colorado Springs, Tammy’s home church. From there, she has served in pastorates in California, Montana, Alaska, and Florida. Throughout her career, Tammy has been active in Presbyterians for Renewal, the Network of Presbyterian Women in Leadership (NPWL), and Wee Kirk (a small church conference ministry). Tammy was first introduced to the Jackson area during her tenure as a Parish Associate in West Yellowstone, MT. Having spent many vacations in the park, she is excited to now call Jackson her home. Tammy is a mother to two adult children, Rebecca and Megan. Rebecca and her husband, Mark, live in Denver, CO. Rebecca is a crisis counselor and pursuing a PhD in Educational Policy. Megan and her husband Jay live in Seattle. Megan is a music manager and both Jay and Megan are professional musicians. Tammy enjoys hiking, horseback riding, reading, skiing, fishing, and the Denver Broncos.
