JOY Summer Camp is one of the highlights of the year at PCJH – it’s an awesome outreach and resource to our community, with fun activities, and so much life, laughter, and energy from campers and counselors alike! This year, camp is especially worth celebrating. With the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic in Jackson and around the globe, JOY would not be happening without the adaptability, creativity, care and faith of this year’s staff.
Read about two of our wonderful staff members, Keely and Erica (or Nike and Sparkles) below, to learn more about them and their roles at PCJH!
“Hi, my name is Keely Huddleston (my camp name is Nike) and I am the Activities Coordinator for JOY Summer Camp! I recently moved here from Oregon where I grew up and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Fun fact: last Fall, I road tripped around the states by myself and logged over 10k miles in 6.5 weeks. I love hiking, playing sports and spending time with friends and family. If you see me around, please say hi – I’d love to meet you!”
“My name is Erica Rivas, a.k.a. Sparkles for JOY. This year I have the pleasure of being a counselor for the Bluebirds, the 4 year olds. I am currently attending the University of Wyoming to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish and Early Childhood Education. During my free time I enjoy hiking and reading.”
Please lift Keely, Erica, and the JOY staff and campers up in your prayers. May God protect, encourage and inspire each of His beloved children in the roles He has called them to this summer!
