Children's Ministry at Home and Now at Church!

We believe the spiritual growth of all people, including children, is important, and under normal circumstances Sunday School is a great way to kickstart the week and provide a time for children to learn more about Jesus.  Unfortunately, circumstances are far from normal, which is pushing us to be creative in how we can continue to provide these learning opportunities.  Browse below to find ways in which parents can engage their children throughout the week and help in their spiritual growth.

PCJH AMAZING RACE

Ever wonder what it is like to be in the Amazing Race?  Well this is your chance to find out!  For our first PCJH Family Event we will be hosting an Amazing Race for families of children ages 3 and up.  Just show up to the church in your car ready to race between 3 and 3:30pm.  Your family will work together to get through the course with the fastest time.  Just like the popular TV show you will have to navigate your way around the church property and complete Roadblocks and Detours which will consist of a variety of church activities from singing with the choir to navigating your way through the playground.  There are time bonuses for good decisions and time penalties for bad ones.  Prizes for the fastest 3 finishers plus a goody bag to take home for everyone!  This event will be held outside and we will ask all to practice good social distancing and wear masks.  For further details please contact Dylan Wade (dwade@pcjh.org).

Week of September 20th-26th

In-Person Sunday School This Sunday (9/20)!

See Below for Details!

In-Person Sunday School

For the next three weeks we are offering in-person Sunday School for a limited group of students.

WHO: K-5th graders only.  Students will be split into two groups (K-2nd Grade and 3rd-5th Grade) limited to 10 students each.  This will be at a first come, first serve basis.  We encourage parent's to register online ahead of time here.  We will accept drop-ins if there is room.  Each group will be socially distant from each other and all students will be required to wear a mask.  Students within the groups will distance themselves from others as much as possible. All students will be screened (temperature taken and a series of COVID questions will be asked).

WHAT: Lead by Dylan Wade and Buffy Allen, students will sing worship songs, learn a bible story and reflect on the story through several interactive activities.

WHERE: Outside on the north end of the church grounds (near the playground).  Bring a jacket as it could still be chilly.

WHEN: This Sunday, September 20th from 10-11:30am during the 10:15 service.

WHY: To reconnect with the families and children of our congregation in a safe and fulfilling way.  Also, to provide a chance for parents to attend the in-person church service.

This in-person Sunday School option may not be for all of us.  We understand that not all families are willing to take the risk to add another opportunity to be infected during the coronavirus pandemic.  For those families we ask that you continue to Livestream our service and spend time with your children sharing the bible stories and curriculum below. However, if your family is willing to take the risk we have done as much as possible to reduce the risk and provide a safe in-person Sunday School experience.  We hope that one of these options continues the spiritual growth of both parents and children alike.
